On Saturday, during the Indonesia-Cambodia Business Appreciation Night, the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh presented the Primaduta Award to Dynamic Argon, an accolade bestowed by the Indonesian government.
The handing over ceremony was presided over by Santo Darmosumarto, Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia, who handed over the award to Tom Kimson, CEO of the Dynamic Advanced Group and Budi Lim, Director of Dynamic Argon Co. Ltd.
Also present at the ceremony in Sofitel Phokeethra Phnom Penh were Ieng Thomas, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, and distinguished guests from different companies This award serves as a recognition of the company for being one of the best importers of Indonesian products to Cambodia. It was presented during the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which took place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) city, Indonesia.
Speaking during the ceremony, Ambassador Santo stated that “it is a privilege for me to announce that the Primaduta has also been awarded to a company here in Cambodia for its contributions to increase Indonesia’s export to Cambodia.”
Dynamic Argon is a joint venture between Medela Potentia, a holding company of pharmaceutical, medical device, and health products in Indonesia, and Dynamic Group, a Cambodian origin company.
The year 2024 marks the first time that Cambodians have earned two awards at a single event, reflecting the rapid growth of trade relations between Cambodia and Indonesia.
Ambassador Santo added that the success of the Dynamic Argon signifies the importance of collaboration between Cambodian and Indonesian joint investments, while also emphasising the important role played by the government of Cambodia as a great host for Indonesian businesses in Cambodia.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Commerce for facilitating and strengthening the bilateral trade relations between the two countries,” he said.
He also noted that the achievement marked a significant moment over a 65 years of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Indonesia.
“The achievement we celebrate tonight will also be a highlight in the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Indonesia,” he added. “It adds a positive part to our trade cooperation. Indonesia and Cambodia have a long historical tie, and we shall translate this into concrete cooperation.”
Thomas, during his welcoming remarks, noted that the relations between the two countries goes beyond the economic connections and is a shared journey of growth, mutual interests, and prosperity.
“In recent years, our economic ties have truly flourished, reflecting the joint efforts to deepen and broaden our trade engagements,” said Thomas. “In 2023, our bilateral trade reached $1.1 billion, a 15% increase compared to 2022. This reflects more than just economic progress; it speaks to the long-standing trust and relationship that the countries have cultivated over the decades.”
Budi Lim, expressed his gratitude as he represented the company while receiving the Primaduta Award 2024.
“We are honoured to receive the Primaduta award from the Indonesian government for the outstanding promoter of Indonesian products in Cambodia,” he said. We founded Dynamic Group with the mission to serve Cambodians by bridging the gap and providing easy access to quality products.
